Good quality, good value for coated wire, but I had to purchase an additional $45 special 1/8" wire crimping tool in order to connect the pieces to the wire. Ordinary pliers won't work. I probably should have purchased a kit that came with the appropriate tool, but I didn't know better at the time! Using my wire to station the koi pond cover, sunshade, and 15' dog runs for when we travel in the RV and have no fenced yard for the "kids" to run around in safely.

I love this kit. I use cable wire for tons of projects around our acreage. This is smaller cable and this not meant to hike much weight, but it’s great quality for what it is. I think the accessories are also good quality. I appreciate the turnbuckles and clasps. I’ve never liked the crimps, but these ones here do look like they are nicely made. All and all, this is an impressive quality kit for any affordable option.

This is a nice kit. As shown in the listing, you get a variety of matched hardware suitable for many different projects. This saved me from searching the shelves for all the components I needed. The only things missing are cable cutter, crimping tool, and instructions. There is also no information regarding load capacity of the wire or hardware. However, it seems strong enough for most household projects listed in the ad.

the wire without the plastic coating is 2 mm or .075 inch according to my calipers. Not the 1/8 inch wire as advertised. If you include the thickness of the plastic coating, then I believe youget 1/8 inch diameter. The plastic coating for the wire is a good idea if you are using this as clothes-line or say a flag halyard or something, to help protect people's hands. The kit would give you the ability to set up a really nice clothesline for eco friendly or off grid clothes drying. And the 304 stainless steel on everything would prevent most rusting. The screw thread tolerances seem a bit loose to me, which could reduce the ultimate strength of the turnbuckles. There are 2 swage type blind hole anchor hooks included in the kit. These would be used to affix the hooks to solid wood.If you want to cut the wire, you will likely need a hard wire cutter like they use for sailboat rigging. If you want to use the aluminum swage fittings, you will need a crimp tool. The turnbuckles are a great way to get whatever tension is needed on the cable, but you need to lock the turnbuckle from rotating once you have it set at the tension desired. I assume that is what the bundle of twist ties is for. On a sailboat, the turnbuckle screws would have a drilled hole in the end to receive a split ring that would prevent the turnbuckle from unwinding. There is also a bag full of screw together cable binders, that can be used to make up the cable loops. It would be good to know the rated loads for the various fittings and turnbuckles. Even a clothesline can be under a lot of load if it is full of heavy wet beach towels or something. All in all though, a very handy kit of supplies to set up a cable for any number of uses.

The cable that I used to seatbelt my dog in the backseat snapped when I folded the seat over. That tells me that she wasn't as secure as I previously thought. So that because the test. I used this to replace the previous cable and tested it with the seat. It is strong and provided the security I needed. Good set and good value.

I used this kit to support some long runs of outdoor ambiance light strands that run between our pergola, our barn, our large covered porch, and our courtyard, which is centrally, where most of our outdoor family outings and events are held. Long runs like that (each over 30' up to 50') cause a great deal of strain to our outdoor light strands, so I've become accustomed to using support wire rope like this, to wind through the strands, as it's nearly invisible and does a fantastic job of not only supporting said strands but allowing me to tension them much better and higher than I otherwise would be able to. This kit worked great for that purpose. Recommended.

This kit has quite the assortment, and could be useful for a wide variety of projects in the yard, home, shop, or garden. The wire rope under the vinyl coating actually has a diameter of 2mm. 2mm 7X7 wire rope typically has a breaking strength of around 500lbs, so keep that in mind when choosing for projects. Don't use for supporting people, or for supporting a load over people. You get just about everything you'd need for multiple projects - 100 feet of cable, screw hooks, rope clamps and crimping sleeves, turnbuckles, thimbles, carabiners, even a measuring tape and a decent wrench. Some of the screw hooks or for use in wood or hollow walls, and a couple come with expanding bolts for use in masonry walls. The hardware all seemed to be stainless, but I don't think it's all 304 - some of the parts were magnetic, some weakly so, and some not at all. This points to a mix of 300- and 400- series stainless steels. At the current price of around $32, this is a pretty good deal - if you walked into a hardware store with just a handful of stainless parts and cable for a small project, you'd pay around this much - but this kit has enough for many projects.
