Bar is as spec'd. I think there's some sort of coating applied. Very likely to prevent tarnishing. I used this as a grounding bar. Where there were connections to the bar, the surface was roughened to the bare metal. If there is a coating, it's very thin.

Excellent option for ensuring your grounds all are at the same potential. Used six inch piece of aluminum extrusion to use for mounting to the wall and drilled 1/4†holes for attaching each of the ground connections.

I will be making it in to L brackets. To hold 4 inch copper pipe to a black walnut base that holds my crystal ball and steam punk lamp.
