Excellent heating mat it started all my seedlings wonderfully just make sure that you have a tray with water underneath the seedlings so that they Steam and keep the roots from drying out because this warms up 30 degrees approximately above the air temperature so a 70 degree room can reach over a hundred which is a bit too much it'd be nice to have a thermostat on it but I did well I did not lose any seedlings all together a great product and the size is grade you can put two full 72 trays on it

It was by accident that I found out that not only does this work for seed starting my plants, it also has been doubling for feral cat duty, on my porch. Turns out it’s a wonderful mat for under my little cat houses, and the cat water bowls on so the water doesn’t freeze. I’d like to note these are NOT supposed to be left out in wet weather; mine is under a covered porch. Just glad to find out it is capable doing double duty.

Great product I use this to heat up multiple 1 gallon jars for bettas and it works wonders. It keeps them at a nice constant temperature and not to hot. The pad will get around 100 degrees at the hottest but through the glass jars it keeps the water at a really good 80~ degrees in love with this pad.

This is a great gardening tool for those of you who start warm weather loving crops like tomatoes or peppers. I would have trouble getting tomatoes and peppers to sprout in our 69° house, but once I set them on the heat mat, it usually took 3-6 days, if that. I haven't needed to use a thermostat with this, but once seeds sprout I remove them from the heat and put under grow lights.

I bought this for my seedlings and it worked well for the first 3 weeks. Then I noticed the right side of the mat did not heat anymore. I did not get it wet and have followed instructions to the T. Now the left side of the mat is starting to lose the ability to heat. I will have to repurchase another heating mat in the spring because this one will be thrown away soon. I bought it because it was very long and would fit my 2 seed trays side by side. Poor quality and cheaply made. Waste of money!

Just received this mat and have two 72 pod starter pots sitting on top of it. I ordered the thermometer that will shut it off but I don't think I will need it. I have been running it for a few hours and it's keeping the temperatures consistently warm and not too hot. The mat temperature is a steady 80 while the soil in the greenhouses on top is a steady 90. Seeds are showing in the green house that I started a few days ago so they enjoy the heat. Will truly consider ordering another one.Pros:Fit two 10x20 trays on it with room to spare.Consistently warm but not too hot.Cons:None as of yet....UPDATE 4/13/2016Just purchased another one.............. :-)

I have one of these heat mats and it works well without a thermostat. I was thinking about buying another except within the last week, the price has changed 3 times. First it was $38+ then $41+ and now $45+. I paid $49+ when I bought the one I have about 6 months ago.

I just got this it seems to be OK but you really need to use a thermostat with it as it gets pretty warm. Mine got my germination flat up to 102 deg before I caught it and unplugged it. I moved it a couple feet down to the next shelf on my micro greenhouse and it is keeping it at 77 now.

I bought this mat because of its size - it fits my small growing space perfectly. However, it only heats in the middle. The outer 1inch off the edge is cold. Along the long side opposite to where the cord is attached - whole 2 inches are cold along the whole side. I've been using heat mats from other suppliers and never seen this defect before. It makes me wonder is I got a defective product. I don't see a way to contact the seller directly to see if this could be replaced.
