Not sure where this gouge is made but its a beast of a tool. So glad I upgraded from a 3/4" as the time savings. Plus the bigger cutting edge = fewer time spent sharpening. Overall a 5 rated tool!

These tools are solid and sturdy. They work great at removing wood from the piece.

When I opened the package I found the top cap of the plastic tube was off and one corner of the gouge had a ding, like it had been dropped or hit something hard. Had to regrind it to remove the ding before I could use the tool. Other than that, I'm very happy with the tool.

I've bought many lathe tools before and they are usually a "regular size". Bought this thinking it's the usual size I buy... I was wrong. What an incredible buy. This will make turning alot safer when compared to my other turning tools. Incredible!My other tools cost alot more but usually come in a set of 3. So I was initially thrown off by the price but now I can see why it's priced on the higher end.Looking forward to using my lathe alot more this year.
