I got this for my daughter who plays clarinet, and she said it’s really supposed to be for saxophone reeds. Very frustrating. It’s cheap, and CAN be used for clarinet, but the reeds don’t fit as well as they need to for it to work well. She’s now using a Van Doren reed trimmer that cost substantially more, but at least I know it will work for her reeds. I guess you get what you pay for. I should have known it was too good to be true.

It is not fitted for alto reed is narrow and slop so you have to hold it steady and centered to get a decent cut.

This cutter is advertised for Clarinet, Alto and Tenor sax - it's only sized for clarinet.
