I got these to patch up knees on my kids' jeans. If you are used to iron-on patches, these are much softer and more flexible. They need to be stitched on with the stitches closer together than you might do with a stiffer patch (I made my stitches about .25 inches apart, and used a light iron-on netting to hold everything in place for sewing).Because of the softness and thick layers of threads, your stitches bury into the patch and become near-invisible. You're left with a beautiful (and comfy to the kids) patch that looks more like embroidery applied directly to the clothes and is less likely to pull/tear at the edges from stiffness. Well worth the extra effort; I'll be using this style of patch moving forward.
