I chose these to make the waist of my pants and jeans adjustable. I always have a gap in the back and hate to wear a belt. I remembered my kids when they were younger having jeans with this elastic in the waist and decided to try it on mine. It works great! No more gapping and I can also adjust the waist if I lose or gain. Great price and it even includes buttons that are just the right size.

I'm most familiar with buttonhole elastic from my young son's pants waistbands. I've purchased some from a craft store in the past, and realized that it was quite good for making facemasks during the 'rona, but the craft store tends to sell small quantities at a higher price, and I ran out of my personal stock pretty fast.This is a little wider than I would use for his pants, but it works fine for masks, and would work well for larger kids' pants.My first impression upon receiving it was "well, those buttonholes are a bit smaller than I expected", followed by "well, it looks like they sent buttons, they're probably small", and finally "no, those buttons are rather large, they look like a pain to manipulate often". So, possibly fine for pants, but not great for masks? I have a stockpile of buttons anyway.

I love it. I needed to fix a pair of jeans for my grandson and I found the elastic on Amazon. Easy to use and even had the buttons with it. Will definitely order again.

I used this to improve the waist fit of fleece lined jeans. I cut a hole, sewed the edges a little to prevent fraying, sewed on the button, threaded the elastic through making sure it wasn’t stretched at all in its placement, and tacked down the ends to prevent the risk of them sticking out. You must be able to do lots of basic hand sewing to install these securely. I love that I can finally have the slightly stretchy waist on my jeans that my kids have had for years. Normal jeans never fit me perfectly so this is great!The width was great for my adult waist pants but might be too wide for kids clothing.I wish it came with a few more buttons the elastic to button proportion isn’t sufficient even for adult use lengths. But it’s a great starter set of buttons and getting more later isn’t an issue.

Needed to keep my man pants up. But these can’t seem to do the job. Like the button holes, but this size elastic may work better on a woman’s skirts. Not really sturdy. A bit disappointing.
