It will leak for an hour or so when new, till the wood absorbs some liquid and then it seals up tight.It works 2 times only. That is. After the 2nd fill, the wood is done and won't do anything to your whiskey. Best plan is to fill it up with cheap stuff. Wait 2 weeks. Then it's ready. If you do the math it's cheaper to buy this barrel and 6 bottles of rebel yell than to buy 6 bottles of Weller's.

I bought this as a gift for my partner and he loves it. It was very easy to prepare and set up. We did end up watching a video because the little pamphlet that comes with thus was not that helpful. But the product itself is fantastic. And so far no leaks, except a very tiny bit from the spigot, when itʻs not tightened all the way. I bought the 1 liter size and it is so adorable. And my partner says he noticed the difference in flavor when he tested it on his favorite whiskey.

I was trying to seal the inside of the keg, and it was so dry that it leaked. The metal bands dripped their black paint onto the bottom. Cheap option wasn’t sufficient, gonna go back to Baar and get the real thing.

Researched online and bought some barrel wax to prepare for usual small leaks. Was pleasantly surprise there were no leaks when filled with water for the first time. The spigot works fine, too. I have it filled with water and sodium metabisulfite for the first 5 days, then I plan to age quality balsamic vinegar. The barrel is well designed and one of the few available which are charred inside.

I literally had only one drop of leakage! After a little over a month the clear liquid I put in it is turning a nice brown color with flavors that mimic Kentucky bourbon.

Angeboten wird hier ein 5 Liter Fass. Auf dem gelieferten Produkt klebt die Information "5 Liter/ 1 Gallone". 1 Gallone entspicht aber nicht 5 Liter! Das Volumen des Fass entspricht auch definitiv nicht einem 5 Liter Fass sondern eher 1 Gallone.

I keep it in water like all the reviews said. The water turned purple and stinky and the metal parts started peeling off. It was so stinking that I had to throw it away

Barrel looks great but even after pre soaking for 4 days the tap leaks badly and the stand is just plywood.
