Yes it’s a block and tackle but the benefits are minimized by the friction of the components. I’d spend more next time for better construction. The rope and the pulleys are cheap and don’t slide easily. Lots of added friction. You really have to angle your pull to be vertical. Any angle on your pull/lift will significantly up the amount of Force required. They did think of the entire package though with the mounts and clips. So that’s a win!

I bought this to lift up a heavy shuffleboard by myself so I could attach the legs. Worked great. My only wish was that it had a locking mechanism which is does not. But I knew that when I purchased it.

I think the most a person can lift with these is about 500 lbs. The tackle might be rated higher, but unless you weigh 1000 lbs you will not be lifting 2 tons with this tackle.
