I didn’t use them on a desk, but the 2†rubber grommet worked perfectly for my project. I need to protect a bunch of individual wires passing through an opening in a metal case. I was concerned that the wires could be abraded, if the rubbed against the metal opening, but I was easily able to secure it in the opening and insert each of the 20 wires through the slotted opening in the top. The item is sturdy and should last for years. Well worth the cost.

I bought these for my Milsbo Tall Ikea Cabinets, and drilled holes in the bottom of both of them to turn them into greenhouse cabinets. The hole saw we used was 2 inches, so we purchased these 2 inch grommets. In the smaller print area, you'll see these say 2 inches (50mm). 50mm is actually more like 1.96 inches so these are a tad small for a 2-inch hole, but not in a way that makes them ineffective. They just didn't fit quite as snugly and securely as I imagined and I ended up having to use weatherstripping around the hole to create the kind of leak-proof, perfect fit I was looking for. The price is excellent for two of them and I like these much better than the hard plastic ones I've used before, so I would still give them a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Built in some bookshelves and wanted to run power and other cords and these were easy to drill for and instal and keep the cords looking organized and clean as they go through the shelf.Remember to get one for the bottom of the shelf as well!
