These pans and lids have rolled edges to provide strength/rigidity, give a smooth, dull edge. That rolled/doubled edge measures 1.4mm, which is slightly less than the .8mm thickness stated in the listing, but the rolled edge may have been squashed thinner by the pressure of rolling. Also, the height of the pan itself is 5-13/16", if the height is critical to your application.Overall this should serve its purpose well.

These pans seem like fair quality. A little on the thin lightweight side, but not to where I think they’re bad quality. I’m just not sure how long lasting they will be. They’re easy to clean and fit along with the other pans I have.

Nice pair of 1/2 size hotel pans with lids. It's always nice to get the lids with the pans. I like using these around the kitchen - they are sturdy and easy to clean. Just pop on the lid and throw it in the fridge. You can also use them in a chafing tray.

These pans are fantastic! While they're a bit thinner than the heavy-duty restaurant-grade ones I'm accustomed to, they are perfect for domestic use and small catering jobs. They get the job done well and are a great value for the price!

The mark of a good hotel pan is that it has rolled edges so you won't cut yourself when handling it (also contributes to the stability of the shape of the pan). It should feel sturdy but lightweight. These are plenty durable enough to serve their purpose which is to serve food--not to cook it. Pans like these should also have a feature to prevent the pans from becoming jammed together. These pans tick all those boxes. I use this style of pan for dyeing fabric and fiber (common in the hand-dyeing community) and I have quite a few of them. These are good quality.

Hotel pans make great vessels for food prep. I love that these easily stack inside each other and can store easily in the fridge. They also stack well with other hotel pans, regardless of whether they are metal or plastic or from different pans. The lids are not airtight, but provide a enough seal to safely store food, and they make the pans easy to stack on each other.
