I used these on a 12/12 roof and had no issues. It made me feel comfortable doing Christmas lights on peaks that I could not walk. Excellent value for the safety it provided and extremely sturdy once it is set up properly. I used them with an aluminum extension ladder piece, so it was fairly easy to move because the ladder was light.

I put the hook assemblies on a 14’ section of a 28’ aluminum extension ladder (I wasn’t sure I could manipulate the completely assembled extension ladder, both sections, while standing on a ladder). I cut and placed, with wire ties, 2 sections of a pool noodle to protect the shingles from the ladder segment feet once it was flipped to hook the roof ridge. This approach worked well, but 14’ was not enough ladder to reach the ridge I needed to reach. I engineered a solution to this shortfall, but the ladder hook assembly, @ 14’ was easily handled, worked as intended, stayed secure to the ridge of the roof, and I spent 2-3 hours reworking a dormer soffit and siding using this the ladder as my foundation on the steep roof.My feedback on the ladder hook design:1) plenty sturdy for my weight (180)2) the Velcro straps hold, but will not remain tight. This proved to be a non issue.3) the 2 wing nuts need to be replaced by custom “T” nuts, lock nuts, or lock washers and nuts. Due to the location and need to get “tight” you have to use pliers on the wing nuts, a bad practice; cause that will break the nut wings. The nuts do have to be removable to allow storage, etc. but just as easy to use a wrench or socket as pliers, but a well torqued hex nut is a better option than a wing nut twisted with pliers. If you can measure the ridge to gutter dimension you’re going to need and see if you can find a ladder section of adequate length vs trying to wrestle and extend an extension ladder on the roof. This assembly is a keeper for me to handle some of the odd roof jobs I encounter. The biggest drawback is not having access to a non-extension ladder segment of enough length to use in some situations.

Great addition to my roofing tools. Especially when you are finishing up a metal roof. Doesn't mess up my roof but allows me to safely go up and down a 12/12 pitch.

I bought this stabilizer for its flexibility - to use as a stabilizer and to use hold a ladder by hooking over the roof ridge. It does both quite well...it is not as stable as a true wide ladder stabilizer, but it definitely works. And its narrow design is convenient in tight places.

Our roof is very steep and each side is 20', and the wall under it is 20' too. The roof is metal, and some screws were coming out. So we needed two 24' extension ladders to reach the ridge, one with these hooks on the end. It worked very well, but I've a few suggestions. 1. The velcro straps did not seem substantial enough, so I secured the hooks to the ladder with lots of duct tape, and it was very secure. Note, the hooks' spacing was not exactly tight on the ladder and is not minutely adjustable, so securing the hooks to the ladder either with velcro or duct tape is necessary. 2. The two bolts that are secured with wing nuts--I see the point of wing nuts because they are flexible to take on and off, and some folks won't leave the hooks attached all the time. Wing nuts are trouble to mess with. So my suggestion is for the supplier to include extra lock nuts to use instead of wingnuts, if the user prefers. (I would.) 3. The instructions could use greater clarity. The instructions should include--If you're using these hooks on an extension ladder and the ladder is not sitting directly on the ground, it is necessary to secure the two sections together. (I used duct tape.) This wasn't a problem for me, but I'm pretty handy. It would present a challenge for some others. In summary, this is a good product and worked well for this tough job.

No way to tighten it down so that it does not move. No instructions provided, had to use screenshot from Amazon to put it together.

Apologies to the seller. I had said- didn't come with all the parts...later found them, so completely wrapped they got mixed with bubble wrap trash. Good product, allowing me to do a job on a slippery steel roof safely. Thanks
