Great for sparks in diy fireworks, also great for lighting thermite. you get a good amount of ribbon and its rather thick (hard to light) but can be shredded down for shavings if you want, really useful. fun for any pryotechnics out there to have in stock

Used the product to have students experience a synthesis reaction by burning the magnesium ribbon in air. The ribbon was easy to cut with either scissors or by repeatedly bending the ribbon until it snapped. Though it took a few seconds, students were able to light the ribbon with a long match. This minimized the need for lighting Bunsen burners, improving lap safety.Also worked well for when combined with 6M HCl, producing hydrogen gas. Suitable and cost effective way to demonstrate different types of reactions in a high school chemistry lab.

Some of the highest purity ribbon I've found in a very long time. Wish the tools came in longer sizes or bigger multi packs. A great product overall.

Requires a flame hot enough like a propane torch to light, a cigarette lighter wont do it! Who ever in here sais that a flint or a match can do it is a liar. It took a propane torch 5 seconds to light it off and when it touched a heat sink area it went out. ABSOLUTELY USELESS AS A FIRE STARTER. In the past long ago I had strips that would light off in 1 second with a match and nothing could stop it. THIS IS USELESS!
