Dental disease is one of the most common diseases in dogs. If you do not pay attention to oral care and cleaning, it will easily lead to calculus accumulation, severe bad breath, oral mucosa inflammation, tongue tear and ulcer, tooth bleeding and swelling, gingivitis, periodontitis, alveolar abscess, etc.

And brushing your teeth is the easiest way to stop all this. Think about why you brush your teeth every day. Is it also to clean the food residue on your teeth?

1. Let the dog adapt first

If you want to brush your dog's teeth safely, you should let him get used to being touched. It is best to choose when the dog is relaxed, starting from touching his mouth, and gradually transiting to being able to lift his lips, and then to being able to touch his teeth.

If the dog resists, don't force it. If it accepts it once, immediately praise it, and let it know that this action is not only harmless but also beneficial.

2. Adapt your dog to toothbrush

The owner can put a little toothpaste that the dog likes on the toothbrush, let it naturally smell, lick and even bite, and let it get used to the feeling that the bristles rub on the teeth.

Don't rush to brush your teeth when it still has resistance and fear, so it may resist brushing your teeth all its life.

3. Steps to help your dog brush his teeth

We can start from the front row teeth, lift the dog's lips first, and brush the outside of the front row teeth from the side. You can rotate the brush or brush it back and forth with moderate force.

If the dog does not resist and opens his mouth, he can also try to use the long handle toothbrush on the inside of his teeth, which must also be gently and not forcefully poked in.

In addition, the dog's tongue and saliva can help to clean the tartar on the inside of the teeth, so if the dog does not cooperate, it is OK to focus on brushing the outside of the teeth.

4. Appropriate reward

Whether it's brushing your dog's teeth or training, appropriate rewards can make your dog more cooperative with you. In the process of brushing your teeth, you should constantly praise your dog and let him know that the owner is happy to do so.

After brushing your teeth, you can reward some snacks to encourage your dogs. It is recommended to feed dry chicken snacks with a hard texture that can grind your teeth. They are healthy and nutritious.

Product rcvd in great condition and fits the Amazon description. The finger toothbrush fit my fingers perfect and do not slide off at all even when wet. The material is rubber texture. They will stretch also if u have large fingers. I am an average size female and I did not have any issues with the size.I have a small dog and brushing his teeth is not easy with a small mouth. My dog and I both struggle with brushing his teeth. The vet said to brush his teeth often, daily. The finger toothbrushes function and they are good quality. The little bumps help hold the Toothpaste when I add a layer. The dog tooth brush from the vet cleans better because of the bristles. However, I like this product also and it is not as hard in texture. I find it best to use both and I rotate from day to day. The toothbrush with the bristles can be rough on my dogs gums. So one day I use the bristles brush bc it is better in tight places in-between teeth. And I use the finger toothbrush to brush all over to clean but not as good in the tight places. Overall I am happy with the product.

These were well made but would be best for a large dog. I have a medium size 25 pound dog and these are really too big to be able to brush his teeth without stretching his mouth out to what seems an unnecessary amount.

1 pack comes with 2 cleaning finger brushes, soft, easy to use, a little too big to fit both fingers in my pups mouth atm but in time he will grow until then I still like that I can switch from one finger to the other without twisting and turning my wrist. I like the quality. I didn't mind the colors.

The hole for thumb is smaller. Probably the manufacturer thought people had two index fingers in one hand ! They should have made one brush compatible to thumb while the other comparable to index finger !

Remember COVID, when we all thought getting something with four legs, fur, and a bark was the perfect idea? Yeah, I didn’t waste any time. But I somehow forgot that my “free dog” would quickly become the most expensive investment of my life. From a $1500 emergency vet visit because he decided water wasn’t his thing, to his deep-seated fear of the sky, this dog is... special. And by special, I mean high-maintenance.Despite it all, I love my furry little freeloader. But I’ve decided it’s time to at least try to break-even on this whole deal, starting with future-proofing his dental visits using this nifty tool.My dog, as you may have guessed, requires a bit of creativity in his care routine. Brushing his teeth is no different—it’s practically the bane of his existence.Does he enjoy having a finger toothbrush shoved into his mouth? Not in the slightest. But it’s way more effective than watching him chew a regular toothbrush like it’s a straw. The double bristles on the Pijaborg 2 Pack Toothbrush for Dogs are a lifesaver, cutting his “discomfort” ahem- stubbornness- in half. Now, he can go back to his favorite activity: lounging on the couch and sighing heavily, as if he’s the one footing the mortgage. If you’ve got a special fur friend like mine, this toothbrush might just be your new best friend.

This is the third brand of finger toothbrushes I've purchased for brushing my dogs teeth and they are also my favorite. They are a bit softer than the other finger brushes I've used and therefore easier on the dog's gums. They are also a bit larger, so they fit my fingers better.

My dog is very anxious when it comes to new things and this was easy for her to get used to. Since it’s attached to my hand she feels more comfortable when I’m using it on her!
