Despite other reviews, these were extremely easy to install — the provided template makes it almost foolproof. I used them to replace the original (and not well engineered or positioned) lid hinges on a Thomasville cedar chest. The only drawback is Thomasville uses solid wood lids that are REALLY heavy, so I figured they may not have the full soft close ability. It works well enough and the lid opens fully, which it did not before, and they are out of the way. Added some rubber bumper dots and it’s fine. Wish I had done this sooner. Good product.

Item received within allotted time without any issues. Hinges are very solid and easy to install using template provided. Mounted side hinges (3 holes) using the template and discovered the lid would not close shut cause the top hinge was resting on the side hinges. I had to drill new holes for side hinges setting the template 7/8" of inch lower from the top. Instructions did not mention this in the paper or on the template. In the end I had to fill the unused holes with wood fill, prime, paint before I could complete installing the hinges

These hinges replaced spring hinges on the lid of a very heavy cherry hope chest with a cedar interior. I was concerned that they might not be hefty enough to spring hold the large heavy lid. I was delighted that the two hinges were more than sufficient to do the job. No worries that the lid would fall or pinch hands. The template made the installation simple. At first, I thought I had received 2 left hand hinges, because the hinges looked identical. But as soon as I unscrewed the white cover, I could see where I had a pair of left and right hinges. So read the directions - and it’s clear how to install a the pair. The lid closes nice and slowly now. Would recommend

These worked great for my antique cedar chest. Can be a two man job depending on what you’re attaching them to, but the instructions were clear.

I have an old blanket box that my grandchildren now use as a toy box. These hinges are invaluable regarding the fact that they put all of our minds at rest in the knowledge that the heavy wooden lid will not be claiming any fingers. Super easy to fit too.The lid does need a gentle and persistent push to get it down but it bits the old SLAM shut!
