This product is advertised as "toilet tank bolts replacement" which are made of "heavy duty stainless steel." The heads of toilet tank bolts sit in water continuously so they need to be made of a rustproof material such as stainless steel, brass or titanium. Ordinary steel is not a suitable material for toilet tank bolts. The first thing that I noticed when I opened the package was that the bolts were brass colored. There's absolutely no reason to plate stainless steel bolts with brass, so why are they brass colored? So I decided to do a few tests to see if they were really stainless steel.First I did the magnet test. The bolts and washers were strongly attracted to a magnet. Most stainless steel is not attracted to magnets, but some is. So it was still possible, but unlikely, that these bolts were made of stainless steel. Then I did the rust test. I placed one of the bolts in water for 24 hours. After just a few hours, it began to rust. After 24 hours, the rust spread even more. The photo shows one of the bolts after 24 hours in a non-metallic bowl filled with water.Based on my tests, it is safe to conclude that the bolts (and probably the included washers) are not stainless steel. They are also not brass, as brass is not attracted to magnets at all. If they are a stainless steel, they are a very low grade, and in any case, they are not suitable for long term use as toilet tank bolts. For this reason, I have to give them 1-star.

I needed to replace my toilet tank bolts because my old ones washers were rotting and not getting a great seal... that being said I wish I took a moment to look at the item image again because I apparently installed them incorrectly and I'll have to drain the tank again to put the bolts in the right order. As It sits, the cone washers to get a good seal on the inside of the tank so that's cool

These bolts are fine if you need them to attach the tank to the seat of the toilet. I didn't read the description carefully, just went off the title, and they weren't what I needed for the seat. Please make sure the title of the product aligns with what people expect to use them for.

We bought a brand new toilet, and one of those nylon type seat "bolts" striped as I attempted to tighten it down, allowing the seat to slide back and forth as you sat on it . . . . . So I ordered these metal ones, and they have absolutely made all the difference in the world! Definitely a great product!

This is a misrepresentation of the item. Plain and simple. These are NOT for affixing your toilet seat. These are for affixing your toilet tank to the bowl.Strongly recommend against buying this item unless you are, in fact, looking for toilet tank bolts.
