You will receive a 6.3" x 5.9" x 0.59" sphgnum moss fiber debris "flake" weighing approximately 3 ounces. Soaking and fluffing with water yields approximately 2 quarts of sphgnum moss fiber debris.

First step
Unwrap the bag and soak the sphagnum moss fiber flakes in water and wait 3-5 minutes for it to fully absorb the water and expand.
Second step
Once the excess water is squeezed out, it can be placed in the pet snail tank as a moisturizing substrate for them.

I've noticed my snails behave what might be more naturally with this versus the coconut core. They seemed to avoid the coconut. With this substrate they actually burrow down into it, which seems more natural. Soak it a with water in a large Ziploc bag and it expands dramatically. For a substrate I'm sticking with this.

I got this for my daughter’s garden snail. She made sure not to use too much water for expanding, she only spritzed it. But in less than a week there’s a thin layer of mold across the bottom of Turbo’s terrarium.
