This rope feels very strong and durable. On its own, it seems shiny and smooth, but as you use it, it feels rough in the completed stitches. If that makes any sense? You could definitely use this rope to make something that gets used everyday and it will hold up.The rope is pretty easy to use and the skein comes with a decent amount of material. The skeins seem pretty affordable too, so whatever project you decide to use this on, it shouldn’t be too costly. I liked the variety of colors to choose from, but all the colors seem kind of muted. I got the navy blue, and it definitely has a grey tint to it so it’s not a full blue. I wonder how the rest of the colors look in person compared to how they look in the pictures.

The description means it when it describes this yarn as a cord. The yarn is made of colored polyester filament wound around a cotton core, making it very stiff. If you have experience with this type of cord, then this is a decent yarn. If not, you should anticipate that it will be much stiffer and harder to work with than more pliable yarns. The stiches with this yarn are rigid and require a larger hook/needle than the size implies. This yarn will make great bags or other items that are meant to see a lot of hard use. It is not a yarn for making any sort of clothes. I also think this yarn would work well for those who like to weave and would be a great base yarn for rugs or something similar. My main drawback is how sloppy it makes my stiches look while I'm getting used to it, so find a pattern that embraces having larger stiches and holes, like a lacy shopping bag. I'll probably stick to using it for weaving rather than crochet.

This rope is very hard to use. I like the color but half way through there is a huge ugly knot in the yarn. So very disappointing since it’s taken me days to do all this work.

This is a very good quality cord. Not sure why it is described as crochet thread because it has the texture and stiffness of cord. Unless you are extremely skilled, it is not really recommended for any crochet projects except for bags and utility projects. It has a smooth feel for cord, it might even be described as threaded cord. It has a sheen luster that would make any project turn out looking nice. I had originally intended to use this for macrame when I first ordered this, but having the experience of feeling it out, I may experiment with a combination mix of macrame and crochet. I'm not very experienced in macrame yet, and this cord seems a little thin for me to feel comfortable working with it. Now I am inspired to see what I can make with this.

So simply - this is cord. it doesn't work up like yarn. It doesn't behave like yarn. It is a slightly stiff, slippery cord. The purple color is really beautiful with a nice shine. The label indicated to use a D - I hook. I chose a G hook and tried to make a quick trinket basket with half-double crochet. I think one of the unique properties of working with this kind of fiber is that it's stiff enough where you can't make your stiches super tight, but it's flexible enough and slippery so that the stiches pull tighter afterwards. My flat-bottom round basket quickly became a deep bowl shape. I think this would be best suited for making bags or embellishments. When you frog it, the cord definitely retains the bends from your previous stitches. I do feel it's a little noticeable when you re-use the frogged part, but as the stitches tighten it may become less noticeable over time. I would recommend that you really think about your project before you start, and count carefully as you go!I had fun experimenting with this cord, and I'm giving it 5 stars because it's not bad and truly as advertised. Just be aware of what you're buying and use it for what it is.

I'm sure it has a use, but it didn't work for me. It is as silky looking fine thread wrapped around a thicker center. I used it for crochet, it splits so you can see the white center thread, it's incredibly stiff. Didn't work.

So I spent some extra time looking at this one. It is a bit stiff right off the cone, but that means it holds it's shape when you bend it fairly well. It did well on a snap test, has no elasticity that I could tell and has a nice shine to it. It's listed on the spool as DK weight and as a weaver I found it to have around 15 wraps per inch and a sett of 7.5 so that matches with my general expectations for DK weight yarn. This color would make good yarn for ornaments at Christmastime and it's definitely sturdy enough to last decades if used in handmade ornaments. I would consider this yarn a good potential candidate for items that would undergo a lot of wear and tear (rugs for instance) and other items that need something a bit more flashy. I wouldn't use this for making clothing items, but definitely bags and rugs.I'm actually quite happy with the yarn but I'm a weaver and wouldn't be crocheting with it.

This shiny, stiff cord isn't what I expected it to be and it will not work for what I wanted it for. I had wanted to crochet an intricate bag with this lovely mint color cord, but the cord is too stiff to work properly without loads of fiddling and frustration. Even with using a bigger hook this cord didn't want to behave in the manner that I wanted, so I'll find another use for this cord. The cord itself is lovely- it is the expected mint shade, and has a nice pearlescent sheen that's quite fetching. This cord would be beautful in macrame, wrapping glass vases, as jewelry cord, or something besides hook or needle crafts. It's a good quality of cord, just not what I wanted or was looking for.Sensy Premium Chic & Easy 1.5mm 218 Yards 50% Cotton 50% Polyester Rope Crochet Bag Cord Crochet Thread (Mint)
