This puller was much heavier duty than I expected and works great. I initially got this to fix a wire fence that a tree fell on and I need to repair, but I have also used it to pull a zipline cable for my kids and along with a come along, it did the job quick and easy.My only "con" would be that when getting the puller set up and before their is tension on it, the cable can slide out of the jaws but still inside the puller. Just takes a bit of finessing to get everything lined up until you have tension on it... then, pull away.

This product works fine. Not the greatest quality, but appropriate for the price I paid. Casting of the metal is just a little shabby. This did NOT work, however, for the small cables on my garage door.

I got a pair of these to do some work on my boat hoist and they provided an easy to use and effective solution to pull and temporarily secure the 5/16 wire ropes with the boat both on and off the lift. No slippage and easy to remove and reattach. Look like they'll last longer than I will.
