I have an older fireplace that has been through a lot of hot fires over the 26 years we have owned our house. The firebrick on the back wall was beginning to crack, flake off and generally looked bad. These plates are basically made to increase the heat output of the fireplace by reflecting heat but I was looking for aesthetics. This does both. The deer motif is great and unit is very heavy cast iron. I hope to get many years out it plus I don’t need to do an expensive repair the firebrick.

This is very nice, sturdy and fits perfect in our smaller corner fireplace. Love the deer on it. I think it’s a great price for the quality.My complaint- this was mailed to a post office box!! This is a heavier item and it should have been sent UPS and delivered to my physical residence. Never should something be sent heavy that needs to be picked up from a post office. Amazon should have made sure that did not happen and the seller needs to make sure too. No excuse for this and that’s why you got 4 stars. Do better with heavier items and my physical address was on the address

Our chimney sweep recommended getting a fireback for our fireplace. We order this one based on the design and the thickness of the metal. It is perfect and gives our fireplace a finished appearance. We would definitely recommend this product.

I can feel more heat coming out than before. It looks nice but is not intrusive when you look at the fire place.
