The rubber-band powered, propellor butterfly is plenty of fun for those who are interested and willing to persevere! The rubber band ( one butterfly I checked) didn’t break, it didn’t seem dry rotted, and after a few tries to release it into the air like a dove, my technique improved. I think this is a toy that teaches experimentation by means of trial and error. If at first you don’t succeed, try, try and try again. I purchased this batch hastily - before I saw a better per unit price. It is worth keeping (a week or so) to give away along with Halloween treats. I’m not sure how much kids get to practice things with rubber-band powered, or many other previously known as old-time, home- made toys, I think it makes for memorable and very worthwhile experiences. The size is large for small hands and easily found after releasing. I wouldn’t think it to be hazardous with adult supervision. Having tried one of these butterflies, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a bigger batch- if I could be sure the rubber bands were as fresh - how does one know they are unlikely to break?

The butterflies quality was much better than I thought they'd be. The colors were brighter then in the picture. Our only mistake was not winding them all enough. When the box was opened several didn't fly. Our Grandchildren enjoyed winding them again once the presents were all opened. They arrived quickly and each was wrapped in its own protective wrapping. I'll definitely buy them again from this company.

Cute and well made but many were kinda unappealing color combinations

We tried and tried but following the directions didn’t help us to get these to flutter well. They pretty much make one turn inches up and fall to the ground. They are very very cute. I bought them to go with our Caterpillar study.

I send out a lot of Birthday cards the butterflies add a nice surprise. They do fly out as they are supposed too.

We tried them several times in cards and other things and we didn’t have a lot of success until finally we gave a book away and it took three of us to twist them and slide them in under the hardcover then cautiously wrap the book and it sat there for a week and the day they opened it those butterflies Flew out and the person who was receiving the book was scared silly🤪😂 FUN

I really wanted these for a Valentine's card and was super disappointed that they just flop to the ground. The rubber band isn't strong enough, the weight is too great. Rats.

These are so fun to jazz up a present or card! My kids love to wind them up and put them in books all over the house as well. They are pretty light and could definitely be ruined easily, but with care they can be used many times. You simply have to twist it and place it somewhere that it won't move until you want it to fly. The more you twist it, the more it will fly. So far they have shocked and delighted grandparents, aunts, and my children many times over. Even the cat likes them, but they don't withstand her attacks very well.
