As IU as redoing my sink drain piping, I got these to try to prevent a problem I had with the prior piping that used the plastic wedge seals. Over time, the kitchen sink drain pipes has slowly shifted over time, sorta walking along the length, until the still intact plastic seal ring worked it's way right off the end of the pipe. Imagine my surprise when I pull the plug on a full sink and the water comes gushing out the cabinet doors instead of going down the drain. When I looked to find what had broken, nothing was damaged, just slipped off the end. Even after reconnecting and tightening, and monitoring it more closely over the following months, it continued to slowly slip. So now I'm doing all new fittings and gaskets, and although it took over a decade for the old ones to start slipping, I want to try using these gaskets that have more flexibility and a bit of rubbery grip on them to get a better and longer lasting seal that stays in place. The one shortcoming is that they are a bit shorter than the included plastic gaskets. The extra height gave a lot of extra force to push the tapered plastic gasket into the tapered recess on the fitting. These are tall enough they are still being pushed in, just not with a lot of extra room to spare and the nut may bottom out on the fitting/threads if these keep compressing over time. I bit of extra height for tightening more later if needed would have been nice.

I replaced the old under-sink washers during an unclog that appears to be inevitable every few years. They are sealing well, although being a little paranoid, I'm always a bit concerned about a couple of slip joints sliding down over time. So far, so good. I'll monitor until my paranoia fades. It's good to have a supply of small but necessary fittings like this readily available in a plumbing crisis.
