So, I made a HUGE, uh... Not quite a mistake, but a decision that had given me a headache, and that was ordering a set of 447 skiens of thread off AliExpress (pic only shows 1 of 4 bags)... To hand wind these without an assist tool would drive me nuts, and since I do this at night, when everyone else is asleep, didn't want to use my power drill rig (Not to mention that operating a power tool half-asleep is a safety issue). So, grabbed this winder, along with the bobbins, and have started my journey to wind all the threads.Winder itself is a pretty solid construction. Holds the bobbins, both DMC and generics, very well. Even holds my homemade ones of heavy cardstock easily. Pin might need a bit of a redesign because it's a bit too smooth, and maybe small, to grip without a bit of help from pliers. Think I'll whittle my own pin to replace it so it's easier, especially the length. It is very small and compact, and easily fits into the section that holds my leftover thread fragments for storage. In the pics, you can see that it's sitting on my bobbins box. It is a little on the loose side, but wedging a folded piece of paper helps keep it from moving too much. Though, I honestly wished that it had slots on all four sides instead of just three.I'll probably end up modifying this so that it can take a screwhead where the handle is so I can make wrapping so much quicker with my power drill. Price-wise, I think it's worth it with the amount of bobbins that came with it. Again, 447 skeins, plus whatever I had to begin with. Gonna need to buy more bobbins anyways, or make more. Now to figure out how many bobbin boxes I'm gonna need for this organization project...

The bobbins were good. There are some complaints about the slots being too wide to lock the floss but I didn’t find them any worse than the name brand plastic bobbins, just wrap the floss around a couple of times. A few had plastic bumps that prevented them from fitting in the spinner but only a few. I just wound those by hand. The winder worked surprisingly good, mounts perfectly on bobbin storage container. I put weight (beads) in the container for stability. Also, floss wants to tangle when unwound fast, a good trick is to open up the skein and drape it around a jar or can, it helps a lot.

Bobbins are sturdy. Love the opaque look. The bobbin winder doesn’t fit for the thickness of these bobbins. The winder works for paper bobbins. I mainly needed the large quantity of opaque bobbins. What I don’t like is that the thread doesn’t stay snug in the slots.

These little embroidery thread bobbins are plastic which makes them much better than the cardboard/paper ones that fall apart all the time. These bobbins are just the right size to fit in my storage container and they are so easy to use. Since they are plastic you don't have to worry about bending or breaking them in use.

This bobbin organizer unfortunately came in damaged. Probably would be better is an item like this was delivered in a box instead of an oversized paper envelope. The box isn't the greatest, but it's a good little starter box if you're looking for something cheap to get you flosses in order.

I purchased the "120 pieces" set, which includes a storage box, 120 plastic bobbins, and two sheets of numeric labels, which match to DMC floss color numbers. This box is surprisingly good quality, and the smaller compartments make it easier to grab a bobbin without the rest of your floss getting out of order. Each compartment comfortably holds three fully loaded bobbins (i.e. wound with a new pack of floss) upright, so the number label is always visible. I'm happy enough with this box that I'll probably buy another when I need it.

Very nice set. The bobbins had some burrs that I had to trim but they did their work just fine. None of them unraveled on me so far.The winder though *chef's kiss*, that's the star of the show. I've seen so many awful reviews on winders here on Amazon from multiple brands that I was intrigued why no one had anything to say about the winder in this set. It's because there's nothing wrong with it! I saw multiple videos of people having to fix their brand new winders because the bobbins wouldn't stay in place or constantly fell off. None of that with this baby. If I got too enthusiastic it would sometimes get loose from the container I was using, but after winding +150 skeins I'd say that happened maybe 10 times total and it was just a matter of pushing it down again on the edge of the container, nothing major.
