Fox Alloy Copper Phosphorus Brazing Rods

Characteristics:

Copper-Phosphorus alloys have outstanding brazing properties and wide capabilities. Phosphorus will alloy readily with copper.Phosphorus is a reducing agent for copper and also deoxidizes silver. These brazing alloys of copper-phosphorus and silver-copper phosphorus are self-fluxing on pure copper. The reduction of phosphorus and additions of silver have a profound effect upon the fluidity of brazing alloys. The alloys of higher phosphorus content are extremely fluid, while the lower phosphorus, high silver alloy has a broad plastic range.

NOTE:

It can be directly welded to red copper, but it is necessary to use flux when soldering copper alloys such as brass

The sticks are thin and burn fast. I am used to longer Brazing Rods and thicker at 5% silver. I had a job to finish up and bought these quick. They did work good but not worth money if you have a large job. Rods will run out quick

It flows nice, if too hot Might get a silver/ish color but a good sanding will remove it if you care, it is strong and easy to use.

using oxygen mapp gas torch, brazing copper pipe was easy, no flux needed. no matter how much heat or time is used, it flowed well.Unlike solder, using just propane torch i find if i over heat , oxidation occurs and solder will not flow.
