Clamp these over coaxial cable as a RF Choke and works great. I then place heat shrink tubing over these clip-on ferrites, to make them fully weatherproof.

9 ferrite clamps will fit on one foot of RG-8X cable. Using a NanoVna I swept 1-30 Mhz and found that 9 ferrite clamps placed back to back on the cable will attenuate -12.5 db. of common mode current. After 5 clamps the clamps effectiveness becomes less with the last clamp only attenuating -.5 db. Obviously these wont replace a wrapped type 31 or 43 toroid used for common mode current (those are upwards of -25 or -30 db) but might clean up a signal enough to help. I hope this helps

I’m a shortwave listener and got these for the antenna coax. I put 10 on the coax right before the antenna and the other 10 a couple of feet before the radio. I’m amazed at how much noise that they eliminated. It has transformed my listening and let’s me listen to stations that were buried in the noise before. It also cleaned up the ones that I could already receive before. They almost completely eliminated the noise from my high efficiency furnace. Before everything above 10 MHz was wiped out when the furnace was running. The best bang for the buck that I have spent in the radio hobby!

Just goes to show you get what you pay for….. these beads do NOTHING to prevent RFI….. I have multiple beads on keyboard and mouse cables, radio cat cables, and the coax itself. These things do nothing….

I bought these because they would supposedly fit around RG-8X. They do 'fit', but the little clasps will not close. I have to tape the bead closed for it to stay in place. :(
