Canister, pump, and hoses, with a couple of foam pads inside. No filter media. Looks like it should have a UV sterilizer built in to it but there is nothing there. You will have to buy your own filter media and no sterilizer, but otherwise it seems to work alright. You're getting what you paid for.

Decent quality budget canister filter, similar quality to other budget canister filters I've used like SunSun or Greco. This Fishkeeper branded 18W version was a bit smaller than I thought it would be. 7.5 inches by 7.5 inches by about 12 inches high and has 2 baskets. They're decently sized baskets for the footprint of the filter. There's not much wasted space inside the canister.I usually like to over size my filtration because I tend to keep well stocked fish tanks and this one just barely gets by on a 14 gallon. I wouldn't recommend it for anything larger. It would probably be better on a 10 gallon tank.So far no leaks, the setup is simple and very similar to the SunSun, maybe a touch easier. I like that 2 of the 4 large camps for the top canister body auto clips, makes it easier during assembly. I'm not a fan of the priming pump, it takes too much effort. Fortunately, you can skip having to use the priming pump if you fill the canister with water prior to inserting the inlet/outlet hose assembly. Just use a funnel to add water into the inlet hole, you'll be able to hear the canister filling up and you'll know it's full when you can see water coming up on the outlet side. Then just put in the inlet/outlet hose assembly and plug it in. The canister will auto prime since the pump is submerged in water. Much easier than using the priming plunger.Something that already looks like a red flag to me is the red tab on top. It's used to lock in the inlet/outlet hose assembly when you insert it in or unlocks it when you want to remove it for maintenance. This type of locking part is prone to snapping after some time on other budget canister filters I've used and this red one in particular is much thinner plastic than others. I'll give it the benefit of a doubt for now but will update if it fails.
