Instructions:
1. BE careful when opening the Big, Tall monarch butterfly tents- after you slip off the elastic strap from around the circle, the cube cage can pop open unexpectedly so make sure you have plenty of space and no breakable objects close by.
2. After opening your net cage, the PVC side will be creased from folding. Get the creases out quickly by blow drying the PVC with a hair dryer for about 5 minutes, or place PVC toward warm sun to relax wrinkles.
3. Always close the cage door so the zippers meet at the TOP CENTER. If a caterpillar is somewhere on the zipper, this will allow you to zip down the other side to open.
4. Clean the mesh cage after a disease outbreak or at season's end by soaking it in a 5% bleach solution (19 parts water to 1 part bleach) for about 20 minutes. The cage can be soaked in a tub or laundry tub.
5. Rinse your butterfly garden with water and then let it sun dry- hang it on a clothesline or put a rock on the floor so it won't blow away.
6. When folding the cage for storage, place your hands on opposite upper corners of the cage and press one corner in to fold the cage flat.
7. Store the cage flat in a closet, under bed, behind a couch, etc..

this enclosure helped me save a moth that later gave me babies and I watched them grow up.

I have bought several of these over the years, not because I needed to replace them as all are still standing with the exception of one ( left out after letting go of insects and a squirrel bit through it to try to make a nest). They are sturdy and useful. I went from using it for butterflies, to using it for hatching mantises and raising slings communally after hatching. Easy to open and clean. So much room. Every the tiniest of fruit flies haven't been able to escape ( I do stick a piece of fabric in between the zippers when I zip it to ensure no tiny gaps when using with fruit flies)

It works well for catching butterflies and letting the kids observe them but the netting is not the best quality and is already showing wear and tear after only several uses.

I purchased 2 of these thinking that I would put some of the monarch caterpillars in it and watch them grown and become beautiful butterflies. Well, it turns out that it served a much greater purposed than for me. My daughter is a teacher and earlier this month it was a week of caterpillars and butterflies for her class. I offered one of my enclosures to her with 4 small plants and one large caterpillar. The classroom watched CHOMPER grow, turn to a chrysalis, then emerge as a butterfly. They then released it as a group the next morning. I do recommend this as it is also easy to clean and store.

Our family loves watching our caterpillars transform into butterflies and this netted house for them is perfect! It's so light and the zipper works well and gives us easy access into the whole house. We put a cardboard box at the bottom, so we can easily clean. We love it!
