These screws come with a security screw head with a pin in the middle of the allen head screw. Unable to tighten without a special wrench. Why have a security head screw with a plastic nut?

Great bolts and wing nuts for many uses, not just pet carrier fasteners. I took a gamble on these since I figured I’d some use for them eventually, and turns out they were great to secure my new hooks for my garage racks. Gets a lot off the floor and other shelving, clearing a lot of space. So these were more useful than I had anticipated!Some things to note: the wing nut is plastic so you’ll want to ensure that your load is supported by enough bolts, and that the surface the bolt is in is tough enough to sustain tightening into. Of course, you could always go get metal wings, but that kind of defeats the purpose of getting this set.Anyhow, so far an easy 5 for this set, and a great value for the quantity.
