Although it states that 18mm is the maximum size, i have been able to run a 1/2 inch ID hose through them, while the OD on this hose is 3/4 inch. 3/4 inch would be similar to 19mm in diameter.

I thought I had put down the correct size when I ordered but I got much larger ones than I was expecting. I guess that's my fault.They work as you would expect cable glands to work. They've got good grip on cables once its tightened down. Great threads and hardware really. Not sure what else to talk about them. They work! Especially if you order the right size!

I'm adding some lighting controls for the porch; and wanted two things to be certain.(1) Waterproof(2) A secure hold on the wiresThese Rthieai NPT Cable glands work better than expected. There is no issue with screwing them into outdoor metal boxes. There is a nice extra with an ultra thin external gasket that seals the connection when nylon tape isn't an option.The 1/2 NPT glands have plenty of room for weather rated 12 - 14 AWG wiring, or 14 AWG and smaller SJT Cords. (The black cord is 18 AWG)They install and seal very well with no unpleasant binding, or gapping (See pictures)I may have to go back and redo some of my previous installs with these because I know they aren't as good at waterproofing as these are.
