I needed to fit a new one as my old stem broke off inside the old one and I damaged it. It works like new.

My old single handle bathtub valve was very tricky to set the water temperature. The slightest change in handle position would change the water temperature from cold to hot. There was no intermediate temperature. This valve has a very wide range of water temperatures and is easy to control. I wish I had replaced the old valve a long time ago.
