I like the smoothness of this wire and it is easy enough to work but firm enough to last for use in jewelry. I use it to wrap the shank of rings that have become too loose to size them down. I can wear my diamond rings again.

Bought this 20 gauge wire to make earrings with true .925 sterling silver wire as advertised. BUYER BEWARE!! This is not as advertised. This is NOT .925 sterling silver. If you are a seasoned silversmith or metalsmith you will know the difference. The end of true sterling silver wire balls up on the end when the end of the wire is heated with a torch. As it turns red from the heat, the wire end becomes a melted ball. I’ve been a bench jeweler for 23 years and I’ve never used true .925 sterling silver wire that acted like this (no balling up) while using traditional silversmithing techniques. Maybe there is a coating or something on it, but I sanded it with a sanding sponge and that didn’t make any difference. As you can see in the photos, the first pic has 3 pieces of wire with the balled up end. Those are true .925 sterling silver. The horseshoe looking wire, with wilted looking ends, is from this 5ft coil I bought in this listing. Such a disservice and disappointment. I want my money back. Can’t use this SCAM WIRE. I would give no stars if it was an option.
