My clasp had broke on my necklace I have had for years. I had found one at a local shop and it begin changing color but this one has been great so far. The ring is tiny so if this isn’t something you do everyday make sure you have very small tip tools for this.

I’m a bit disappointed that the jump ring was only silver plated, which makes me wonder if the clasp is plated as well? The jump ring has faded to copper in spots and sticks to a magnet and the clasp itself is getting somewhat muddy looking and the spring loaded tine has somewhat of a copperish look on some angles. I don’t so much mind that the clasp is or seems to be fading, but the description was 925 silver. My opinion is that you should get what you were told you were going to get. I think as the silver plating is wearing off, thats when its becoming reactive to the magnet (I just tested the clasp while writing this and the clasp is mildly reacting to the magnet… it’s not silver). That being said, I am at least feeling the clasp itself is secure, for the time being. They do wear out quite quickly if you remove your jewelry frequently, then put it back on. I used to do jewelry repair and at this price point… you get what you pay for, especially when it comes to jewelry. Every now and again you’ll run into an amazing buy; but if you think about it, the seller has to make money, they buy these in bulk for pennies on the dollar and will usually do an average of a 300% mark up to cover shipping and handling and other costs associated or they would end up losing money.That being said, my clasp is working well for now, I rarely remove my necklaces and bracelets, so just one of these will last me for about a year. I bought a two pack, so I’m set for right now for my necklaces. I wouldn't put this on a bracelet only because the discoloration would show. Next time I think I will just bite the bullet and buy in quantity, so I can get the actual product I want and not have to leave a disappointing review. The functionality overall is fine, it’s just that it’s plated and not solid sterling silver.Hope this helps.
