String is a bit weak but reels are durable, smaller one is great for kids

The bearing in this thing is great although a little noisy. The kite strings out with little to no trouble and can be reeled in quite fast. The only thing is if you let there get slack in the line the string likes to jump out of the reel and get tangled. If you make sure to keep slack on the line all the time you’ll be fine

Kite went up very high and fast. Was fast and easy to reel back in, when the wind stopped. Didn’t have a chance to reel it in while wind was still blowing hard.

I love this reel! no tangles, not once. Handle was perfect. Not cheap plastic either

We ordered these for a trip to the beach, where we always enjoy flying kites. Unfortunately, it was not a very good experience. The winding (and unwinding) action of the reel is not smooth at all. This is probably because it's a poorly-fitted set of plastic parts, with plastic balls serving as bearings in a loosely fitted groove. Even without getting sand in the reel, this thing is hard to use.Next, the little folding handle (which also serves as the line lock, to keep more line from feeding out) is way too small, terribly uncomfortable to use, and feels very flimsy. In a brisk beach wind, with a kit flying at about 400', I wondered whether the reel and handle would be strong enough to get it back down at all. In the end, it was, but I really thought I was going to break the handle. Because it is so uncomfortable to use, I had to take a break or two while reeling it in -- every 100-150', you want to give your hands a rest. Thank goodness I hadn't let out more line. I often fly kites with more than 1000' of line out. If I did that with this reel, I think I'd just cut the line and wish the kite goodbye rather than give myself carpal tunnel syndrome spending two hours trying to reel it back in.The only good thing that I can say is that it's reasonably comfortable to hold once you have the kite out at the distance you desire. For steady-state holding, it's...adequate. The smaller reel is good for younger kids in the same way, but they will just get frustrated trying to reel line in or out with these things.I highly recommend you spend just a few bucks more and get a higher quality unit. These made me wish that I had instead brought my "worn-out" unit, which even in its five-year-old worn state was better than this reel new out of the box.

Fast delivery, but quality isn't the best. Have plastic bearings and kinda dinky.

Two sizes. My 8-year-old nephew’s hand fit perfectly in the small one and my hand fit perfectly in the other. Metal kite clips were included. These winders work really well.

It was a little tangled at time. But very strong line against hard blowing wind
