Ok so I didn't get this for my livestock, I got it for my dog. Yes, she is an itchy girl no matter what we do. She can be seen multiple times a day rubbing against a tree or bush to scratch that itch. When I saw this, I knew it could give her a good scratch and save the wear and tear on my tree and bushes. It took a little time to get her to realize what it was and to actually use it, but she does like it now. I mounted it to a fence post at her height so she could get to it like you would for your livestock.I like that she gets to scratch her itches, and my trees are safer from her abuse. The bristles are long and not too tightly packed. There is no buildup of hair from shedding and the bristles are holding up great. Maybe this gives you an idea for your own dog or at least an idea of how well it could work for your livestock.

Robust and easy to apply wherever they are needed for your livestock. Immediately came over to the newest one and started to use, very high quality bristles that should last a few seasons.

We recently added this set of two Livestock Scratch Brushes to our farm, installing one in our mini mules' pasture and another for our boy goats. The brushes came with a shedding brush, which, while a thoughtful addition, wasn't necessary for our needs, leaving us to find a place to store it. The brushes are robust, with firm bristles suitable for our animals, though the included hardware was lower quality. We immediately encountered a problem with the soft screws provided; one snapped during installation, prompting us to replace all hardware with stronger, more reliable alternatives to support the weight and usage of our animals. While our animals are still adjusting to the new additions in their spaces, we're optimistic they'll grow to appreciate the comfort these brushes can provide once they get used to them.

My horses absolutely loved their new scratchers. This pack came with two of them and I also came with the zip ties and other melting accessories. Do you need to get them hung. They are very heavy duty and I love the bright colors of them it attracts my horses to them immediately.

These livestock scratchers are basically just giant bristle brushes, with nice stiff bristles mounted in a half-round plastic frame. They come with nuts and bolts for attaching the frames through wooden posts or boards, as well as screws with plastic mollies for drywall (I wouldn't use that method, personally--my little goats really go to town scratching themselves on their brushes, and I think the force of their rubbing would destroy a drywall installation). There's also a metal shedding brush/curry comb thrown in for good measure!I used to take old push-broom heads and mount those on the barn walls for my livestock to itch themselves, and while they worked alright, this pair of brushes will work much better. First, they have significantly longer bristles and a full half-round of brush for the critters to rub up and down along. The push-broom heads only have short bristles and a narrow band of scratching. Second, these can be mounted together around a T-post or wooden post, to fully encase the post and provide the livestock a full array of scratching options in all directions. They can be wall mounted as well, if that's more convenient, but I know my goats will appreciate having the post out in the middle of the stall where they can reach more parts of their bodies. Great design, feels solid and well made. I expect it to hold up for many years, since I've located it out of the sun inside the barn. Worth the price for such a big, strong set of brushes!

These are great brushes. They come with hardware needed to install them on a post. The bristles are stuff and perfect for scratching. We didn't use the shedding tool but it is durable too. The brushes are holding up well against our weather too. They should last.

I feel a bit betrayed by how small these cow brushes are. They are about 1:3 scale of what I was expecting to get. Now that I look at the description again, I notice the very short 18" vertical measurement. The photoshopped product photos consistently make this item look at least twice the size.Plus there are the manufacturing issues. If you put the two pieces back-to-back, you'll notice that the two halves do not make a whole. While it isn't the end of the world it really demonstrates the quality of the product I received.I feel like this is really overpriced for what I received. I'm pretty sure a similar piece could be made (better) with a trip to the hardware store for less than half the cost, and to the scale I expected. Not really thrilled with how small this one is.
