Ordered this for my son, who plays sax in the marching band. He's marched several years and never had a thumb rest. When he tried this, he said it was a game changer and wishes he had gotten something like this his freshman year. Said it's definitely more comfortable to have a thumb rest there, especially when playing and marching for long periods of time.The only slight criticism is that it was difficult to install. However, given that you install it and never need to remove it, that's a one time annoyance and he said he'd rather it be difficult to get on, but then stay on, rather than being easy and potentially falling off.Overall, he really likes this and recommends it as a great addition, especially for marching band use.

These saxophone thumb rests are great. My son uses them while practicing his saxophone. His band teacher even gave his stamp of approval, and praised my son for adding them to his saxophone. I would recommend them to anyone considering purchasing them.

So my 11 yr old daughter recently started playing the alto saxophone but kept complaining about her thumb hurting because of the thumb rest. Well I got this for her and it's a tad too big but it stays on well enough to use, it just hangs off the end a bit. As of right now it fine and if it doesn't work out, falls off or isn't as comfortable as claim then I will update this review.
