Updated 02/28/2025: I reached out to the seller regarding the lid and they sent me a whole new unit. This has worked great for me for months. It always seals and holds a vacuum for a long time. Based on how it's worked and the excellent customer service, I have upped to 5 stars---I have been using this unit for de-gassing resin and for stabilizing rocks with resin for a few months and it has worked fine. It hold a vacuum well. Today while stabilizing some rock material, after sitting at a vacuum for several hours (I only ran the pump for 12 minutes and it held the vacuum fine), the lid imploded and broke into several pieces with a loud BANG!. It freaked us out! The lid was fine with no damaged prior to this. I have reached out to the vendor about getting a replacement.

The picture is all the instructions that this comes with, so you can have to figure most of it out on your own. Including installation and how to use this thing. Typical Chinese merchandise that doesn't give clear instructions at all. I had to guess and how to put it together and how to use it.

This is a great kit all things considered and being able to get a vacuum pump and a pressure pot for $130 at the time of review with a $20 coupon knocking it down to $110 is pretty incredible. I'm giving it 5 stars because you should not be expecting an incredible vacuum pump for $110 but the pressure pot is top notch and you could easily upgrade the fittings to a larger gauge vacuum line if you wanted. The silicon non-stick mat is a nice addition and I appreciate it came with oil because I've gotten other cheap pumps that didn't come with oil. It was well packed and definitely gets the job done. Try using carnauba wax or loctite's frekote product to keep the silicon from sticking to the inside.

Item arrived defective. The brass splitter is sealed off and won’t allow air in or out of the pot

I am using this for epoxy. I still consider myself new to epoxy, so not having detailed instructions kind of threw me a curve ball when trying to first use the vacuum chamber. Luckily, I found information on line and was able to figure it out. Now that I have it working, it is great. The chamber and pump are well made. The pump is not at all loud when using and it seems like a pump that will last a long time. The chamber has an acrylic lid and everything sealed well for me. I am currently working with small items, so the size of the chamber is perfect for what I’m doing. I saw no bubbles in my epoxy after running a couple batches through it. I believe the price point is fair for the product.

During the first use of this vacuum chamber I noticed crazing (fine spider web cracking) on the lid. Obviously this is very concerning. I have returned the first one for a replacement, if the replacement is better I will update my review.

This 3 gallon vacuum chamber has a real nice stainless steel pot, lid and the fittings are all brass including the gate valves. Has a better than average liquid filled gauge on it. The acrylic cover for the top of the 3 gallon stainless steel pot is nice and thick and has a great silicone seal. It comes disassembled but includes some easy to follow instructions for attachment of the manifold. The pump is a basic 3.6 cfm vacuum pump and it is adequate for this size pot. It arrived in a box that had a bag wrapped around the whole pump. The bag and the pump were covered in oil on the inside that came from who knows where. I am assuming it was test oil from the factory and I did not get drained prior to shipment. It was a pretty big mess to clean up so that was not any fun. There is a bottle of oil for refilling that was sealed so it was not from that bottle. We use these pots for epoxy pours for removing the bubbles and I have started dabbling in stabilizing wood and impregnating color into the same wood. It’s a fairly straightforward process that produces some beautiful wood for knife handles and such that will not move around as much as regular wood will. I have done a little of both the aforementioned uses for a vacuum pot in this one and it performed fine. For just over one hundred dollars this vacuum pot system is a good value since the fittings and the pot itself are of good quality. Once you get into this a little more you will want to replace the vacuum pump with a higher CFM one but this is a great little pump to get you started. The one star ding was because of the oily mess I had to clean up. I might have even uttered a few bad words while doing it but I’ll never tell.
