With matching the brand to the part that needed to be replaced, this worked as it should. I had to snip the original part off where it clips on, but the new one easily went into place. Tight seal, and no more problems with the toilet running.

The rubber is strong and not flimsy, the chain is easy to attach and install. It definitely seals right with no leakage for the larger diameters of a toilet bowl. Highly recommend!

My toilet was making a hissing noise after flushing. I realized that the toilet flapper was old and leaking water. It was not to hard to replace. the noise stopped immediately once it was installed.I had edit my original post because the metal rope eroded and it snapped. Luckily i had a metal bead rope from the ceiling fan that I was able to use to fix it. The metal rope eroded in a month in a half.

Chain rusted and broke THREE TIMES within a month! I had to MacGuyver it until new flapper and chains came. I have hard water, yes. But I've lived here almost 30 years and this has never happened. Never! I've never paid attention to the type of chain that was on my flapper but I believe it's this type of chain that's the problem. I ordered chains with rectangular shaped links and I'm hoping they will work. Chains are cheap so I'm not saying the flapper is junk. This is a special, larger type, so if u gotta buy it get some different chains for like 6 bucks.

Not a fan of Gerber toilets because they only sell to wholesalers/contractors. Was happy to find a decent copy of their flapper for a reasonable price. Original Gerber flapper lasted exactly 10 years. Will see how this replacement part lasts. I have a 1.6 gal. Seems like a good fit. Toilet stopped leaking so I’m happy.
