So I bought this w/o reading the reviews and when I did I thought I made a mistake. I’ve only had it 3 days running so far with a T stat and luckily haven’t had any issues. I would say this is a good product. I have Arcadia 50w and 80w but they don’t cut the butter for my 120 gallon so I went with this one. I use a tstat and properly rated lamp to run it and did smell the smell everyone mentioned but it does go away. So far so good. Time will tell the truth though.

Lifespan was surprisingly well, heated up my 22G PVC enclosures well, great value, it's a win in my book

Horrible experience with this bulb. Almost immediately upon screwing in bulb and turning on the entire house smelled AWFUL - hot electrical burning smell. Thinking maybe the bulb needed to burn something off we tried to give it benefit of the doubt. 15 min later the smell had only intensified and wasn’t getting better. Unplugged light and let it cool - as bulb cooled you could hear popping sounds. Once we were able to unscrew bulb the one side had turned brown and started to burn/melt. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT AT ALL!Yes the buib and lamp base we had it in were compatible and we never had an issue with another brand deep heat light so we will be going back to the other brand. Scary to think it probably would have caught on fire.

I bought this on April 2nd 2023. It definitely had a gross burning smell at first, which lasted a handful of days. After that, it was great. Provided heat for my leopard gecko, I had it on a thermostat so it was easy to keep the temp steady. I have no complaints. It is expensive but it lasted a year, mine just started giving out yesterday, April 5th, 2024.

Say goodbye to buying heat bulbs every other month. I didn’t actually know how long this one has lasted until Amazon asked me to review it. It has literally lasted a year. It’s still going pretty good for my bearded dragon!! Highly recommend.
