I had a small face plate this same size but it was made of aluminum and the screw holes were wearing out rather fast. This is a nice heavy duty steel faceplate that fits great, runs true and won't wear like the aluminum one will.

This faceplate looks very nice - and works very well. I had a project for which had a small 2" base and so couldn't use my collection of 3" faceplates. This fit the bill perfectly. Machining is very clean.I threw out the screws as I don't really trust cheap screws. I used better quality wood screws and had no issue. As pretty as it is, however, you'll end up scratching it with your slip-joint pliers getting it off the lathe as there are no flats anywhere to put a wrench on. It may be that there just isn't room given that the outer diameter is 2" and the lathe drive screw is 1" in diameter. So you need room for the threaded part of the faceplate and then room for the screws. Nonetheless, it would have been nice to see some solution such as a fatter plate and a hole in the side of the plate for a bar.

Tried this for first time last week. Worked excellent, shipping package was good, no chance for damage during shipping.

The one thing that would have made it perfect is a groove instead of the set screw holes. I have a Vicmarc.

The face plate is engineered poorly. It doesn't fit firmly on the spindle. I could have engineered it much better. Save your money.

Remember that this uses 3/4â€-16 NF/UNF thread, NOT 3/4â€-10 NC/UNC. I made that mistake when buying threaded rod to go with this product. I ended up getting the right thread and this worked perfectly for what I needed. This is a great value and flexible for many different projects.
