I didn’t expect such a cheap tool to be so effective. I spent days trying to get that fan clutch off but couldn’t without spinning over the engine. No matter how much I tried to hold it I could not get it lose. But with this tool it was off in 10 mins. It’s a great tool and I’ll definitely tell all my friends with e46s to get it

Did not fit my e46 3.0L. The bolt holes were too close together to be able to hold the water pump from spinning.

Update 01/2025: The bolt pattern behind the fan clutch is not symmetrical. That is, you must position the tool to the correct 2 bolts that line up with the tool. It just won’t fit arbitrarily. Even doing this, it was a challenge getting this tool to work, but did manage to remove a particularly stuck fan clutch. Be aware of the non-symmetrical bolt pattern when using any of these tools. Upgraded to 3 stars because it did work. Also, appreciated hardened steel.==============================I really needed this tool to work, but alas IT JUST DOESN’T FIT. Have the 6 cylinder 2.5L engine, the same as millions of these cars.How hard is it to get these dimensions correct?
