Quite happy with this so far. It is an upgrade from my existing awning motor. The motor I am replacing does not have the manual nut that can be used in the event of a motor failure. That has bothered me since we got the camper because I was always afraid it would fail while the awning was out and I would not be able to get it back in.As soon as I saw this unit, I wasted no time in ordering it. While I do not have it installed (the camper is in storage right now). I have put this on my workbench and operated it. It runs smoothly and fairly quietly. The finish looks good with no casting burrs or jagged edges and the motor finish looks good as well. I have also tested the manual nut and that works great too.I can be less worried to use the awning now. Yes, something else about it can break and fail. But I am not worried about the motor any longer. Because even it it does fail, I can bring it in by hand.

I'd highly recommend anyone planning to change out an awning motor to do some research and watch a few of the videos on YouTube. I was a little disappointed that there were no directions in the box with the new motor. Replacement of the awning motor is relatively easy, just be sure to have a good grip on the awning so the spring doesn't spin. Also be sure to use some type of lock tight on the screws used to hold the motor in place. The motor works well and the awning now goes up and down like designed. A great diy RV project.

This Awning Motor Drive Kit was a nice upgrade from what we had before. My husband installed it without any issues, though he’s pretty handy, so that’s worth considering. This works great with the Dometic 9200 awning. It's made for it, so it's sized properly for its wight. It seems really durable, so should stand up to outdoor usage for a long time. It's made to be quiet and smooth. This is a great way to fix an RV awning!

Nothing fancy here--just a reasonably priced and fully functional aftermarket RV awning motor drive. I installed it myself and so far so good. It works just as well as the OEM drive and that's all that I can expect from it. Recommended!!
