Wider yokes allow for a more comfortable portage, since the additional width distributes weight more evenly on the neck and shoulders. Our 36" canoe yoke is made of solid ash with a clear polyurethane finish and measures 0.875" or 7/8" thick and 2.5" wide at the ends. Each yoke is handcrafted in the United States.

Perfect fit- drilled a couple holes and that’s it. Nice hardwood - Ash I believe. Put an extra coat of sealer on it before installing. Photo shows old 25 yr old rotted yoke in foreground and new installed yoke
