Sampling Steps:
1.Take out the sampler, connect the handle and rod together, need installation but it is very easy
2.Step on the pedal, then use the round rod to insert the soil and rotate for shaping the sample
3.Take out the soil sample gently and put it in the PE bag for temporary storage at last

I’m a professional crop consultant and take over 2000 samples a year and this is my third one and this is my favorite hand probe it’s light and fairly sturdy with the nice wide foot peg so I haven’t had tendinitis since I started use this one they last 1500 samples (~15000 plugs) usually then wear out as expected in my sandy soil and not worn bad just barely measurable amount it just doesn’t hold the core in dry sand as well when it starts to get worn out but still works great in moist or heavy soil

I'm disappointed that the metal had some rusted blemishes on some of the parts, but it's nothing I can't buff out and I understand this is a small seller so it's not a deal breaker. It was pretty easy to assemble and hold up pretty well. Very sturdy metal and can easily handle the weight of someone pushing down on it.

The first day that I used this product the foot pedal bent. I sent a message to the seller explaining what happened, and to please just send me a new pedal, or I will return the item. I never received any correspondence from seller. There are lots of these soil probes available on Amazon, I will purchase one from a different seller.

If you’re doing soil tests then this is a must have, you might think you have save $30-$40 by getting the cheaper ones but this is the best especially since you can use your foot to help drive it down deeper into the soil

Heavier than I expected. And SHARP! Watch your fingers when unwrapping the sample part of the tool, I sliced my finger wide open. Blood everywhere.My only complaint (minor) is that the bolt holding the upper and lower bars together prevents one from adjusting the step to lower and upper depths, ie if you wanted to slide the step from a 6†depth stop up to an 18†depth stop, you’ll need to remove the bolt holding the bars together. Thats minor though, especially if you only plan to use this for sampling the top soil.
