This set of knitting needles seemed quite inexpensive. I bought them mostly to have a full range of sizes, so that I could switch sizes to match the gauge of a pattern. Bamboo is generally good for beginners like me.Based on other reviews, I expected to have to sand down some splinters or sharpen some ends, which would be worth it for the price, for me. Mine seem pretty smooth, though, and they might even have a very light finish (they don't feel unfinished). The points all seem appropriate to the needle sizes. I don't have any repeated or missing sizes. The thin ones are very thin and would probably break if I put a lot of bending pressure on them, but the bamboo itself seems fine (not stringy and easily broken, like bamboo skewers).Other reviews have reported problems. Maybe the shipper has used different suppliers, because mine seem solidly made; they're not fancy or top-of-the-line, but they're unflawed. I'm very happy with my purchase. The size markings are a little light. That's probably a good compromise between readability and subtlety, but I took a dark permanent marker and labeled the ends.

I have been knotting for over a year. I bought this set when I first began as a starter set because if the price. Since that time, I have really taken to knitting and acquired hundreds worth of dollars of knitting needles, my favorites being the addi brass fixed circulars. Well, I may have over-done it on the knitting because I get terrible pains in my firearms and elbow now (the real cause was an auto accident but the knitting doesn’t help). I’ve found the addi’s to be very heavy and found myself coming back to this lightweight bamboo set. I’ve also found that it’s easier for me to knit flat, as opposed to on circular or even DPN’s, because I’m not pulling/tugging so much and have a much easier time keeping my tension without over using my muscles. I have lived working with this set and have found that the wood does start to take on a smooth sheen after several uses (presumably from the oil of from my hands) and the yarn slides off much easier now. My most-user needles, the 4.0mm, have started to bend ever so slightly. But they are still a joy to use! I actually came on amazon to re-order a set so that I can have them fit when these bow, splinter or crack. But, then I realized that I’d never left a review from my last purchase and decided to do so now. If you are considering buying this set, just do it! Especially if you’re just learning to knit. These are quality needles at an amazing i rice!

I love this bundle pack of knitting needles. I got it for my mother in law to learn how to knit and I know she’ll love it because I learned to knit on needles just like these. There are tons of sizes and I find that cheap bamboo needles like this are fantastic if you oil them up a little bit with something like castor oil or olive oil. I highly recommend them for any beginner, as there are tons of sizes so you can try different yarns as you wish.

I like these rather than the metal ones because they're light weight. It holds the yarn well, just as sharp as the metal ones. The many sizes make it worth the buy.

This is a very comprehensive set of needles, from the tiniest to knit thread to some of the largest for doing bulky yarns. They are very smooth, in their natural light color, and each is stamped with the size so they are easy to match in pairs. I like the shorter length, easier to use in small spaces and for smaller projects and the wood is nicer than metal on your hands.

Just ok.Bought these to see if I could teach myself to knit. Didn't want anything too expensive just to get started. They are way better to work with than the metal needles. But most of them are warped. Whatever... they still knit (and purl 😉)Fine for the price but you get what you pay for.

I didn't expect much from such an inexpensive set of knitting needles, but they have exceeded my expectations! I am just learning to knit and wanted to have a large variety of sizes so I took a chance and purchased this set and I am glad I did. I am very happy with these needles. They are grippy enough that the yarn doesn’t constantly slip off, but they are very smooth and don’t snag the yarn. In the past, I used aluminum needles to try to learn how to knit but found them too slippery and always ended up returning to crochet. Since purchasing this set I have already learned several stitches and completed multiple projects. I have tried using a few more expensive needles that I purchased from a local craft store, but find myself returning to this set. Honestly, I prefer them to some that are five times the price. These were definitely a good buy! I plan to buy more of these sets for my students.
