From the Manufacturer
Toggle bolts come with spring-action wings and are intended for anchoring into hollow walls. The wing is designed to spread apart behind the base material upon installation for firm hold in hollow wall applications. The wing disperses the weight of the secured item over a larger area, increasing the weight that can be secured compared to a regular bolt.

I primarily use the 1/8 inch toggle bolt and wing nut to support my bathroom towel bars, towel rings, and wall coat rack that are anchored into my drywall. The toggle bolt and nut option is hands down, the best anchoring system for anchoring wall mounted items. I was previously using the plastic dry wall anchors (which are crap), and then the self drilling toggle anchors. The items I mounted starting coming loose. My toddler ended up ripping a towel ring out of the wall which was mounted by the self drilling toggle anchor.I use the 1/8 inch because it requires the smallest hole out of the others. It's still a big 3/8" hole that I have to pre-drill, but I feel assured that I won't have to mess with re-anchoring items again. I felt this Hillman Group option was a little better quality than Helifouner version that I previously purchased. Both worked fine, but the Hillman Group felt more sturdy and durable. If you think my review is helpful, please vote so that it helps others, too. Thanks!

The bolts feel a little cheap and flimsy. Several of the wings for the toggle bolt would get stuck in the closed position or catch. I had one where it caught and would not open while inside the wall. I had to take it out and redo the whole thing with a new toggle bolt. While a good value, I should have bought something a bit more sturdy and consistent.

(2017) This little toggler was a God send. My son broke the toilet paper holder off the wall and our contractor said the hole was too big to fix. He said I would have to spackle, sand and paint. Well no way do I want to do that to a new wall. So I used the Hillman toggler to fix. It worked like a charm. Super easy! Toilet paper holder back up. The toggler is super strong. Great little invention, thanks Hillman.Well fast forward to (2019) and I never uploaded my 2017 review. The towel rack in bathroom came loose. I was super annoyed .. pulled out my trusty toggle and fixed my towel bar. I do not know why this doesn’t have 100% positive reviews. Why would my contractor that I paid 30,000 dollar to renovate basement not use these toggles. By the way I am a female and I was able to use these toggles and fix my towel rack. .

nearly all of my towel holders have come loose because they are using those screw in type drywall anchors. i got tired of tighten them every few months, so i bought this box and have been replacing those anchors with these toggle bolts. these work and have not had any issues. hoping they will stay tight as i cannot think of reason why they would come loose, but if they do, at least i know i can just re-tighten it without messing with making dry wall holes.

Ditto to another reviewer: "Horrible Quality — Toggle Wings slips off bolt threads." I would suggest Amazon discontinue selling this poor quality hardware... it's really bad quality.

In the past, I've tried using other types of hardware for mounting things to sheet rock. Those ones always felt like they'd fall out if I breathed on them too hard. I also had some that actually broke apart instead of expanding like they're supposed to when you tighten the screw. On the other hand, I'm very happy with these toggle bolts :D Now, since you have to drill a hole big enough for those "wings" to go through when folded (3/8" in this case), this does mean that you will end up with a hole that's bigger than the diameter of the screw. You may need to take that into account when marking where you drill your holes. Depends on what you're mounting. If you're going to mount things on sheet rock, get this style. Totally worth it :D
