Step 1:Install new o-ring.
Step 2:Place retaining ring into install tool recess.
Step 3:Insert anvil into retaining ring at a 45°.
Step 4:Push and bring the anvil perpendicular.

works with milwaukee tools but you have to sand down the edges so it fits in the groove. i hope this helps others looking for a cheaper alternative.

Worked for what I needed it to. Only reason for 4 stars is that the tool to install it is rubber and does not work the greatest but after a few tries I got it

Start by throwing the install tool away. I put the ring on my Milwaukee M12 Fuel 3/8 impact just by pushing it down on the work bench and then all the way on with a screw driver. It works just fine now. So it fits, works, but YMMV on installation. Ok product so far. I can’t complain other than the ridiculous install tool. It provides several rings if it breaks or comes off.

I will be returning this garbage. The "install tool" is worthless piece of rubber with a hole in it. The rings don't go on a milwaukee 18v 3/8 drive as stated. Waste of time and money.

The metal retainer ring on my impact disappeared kept dropping sockets. This fixed it. you pull off the old metal ring if you have it still and old rubber o ring then put a new rubber ring from this kit on your impact then put one of the metal rings in the rubber install tool that comes in the kit then push the impact into realllyyyy!!! Hard and it will go on then you are back in business
