Bought this for my dog’s backyard tether. He’s a German Shepherd puppy that’s now 88lbs and I didn’t trust the flimsy looking clips that came with the tether. These are very easy to install. They have 4 sharp teeth inside that really secure the tether in place. I did install 2 steel clips behind it as a secondary securement. These took a week to arrive but well worth it. Well made. Not cheap feeling. I don’t know about using them for climbing or anything like that. But it secures my pup that’s ALWAYS chasing birds and squirrels. So for your dogs, I highly recommend!!

Used these to make longer leashes for my Great Pyrenees & they have not let me down! Undo two screws, make your loop or splice two lengths & insert your rope or cable, screw back down & you have a bond that will not slip or come loose! Love these!!

These are a lot quicker than doing a splice. My only concern is the size of the clamp does not seem to match the size of the rope. I managed to crack one and the other is still open along one side. To get a proper fit, I think you need to go up one size in the clamp vs the rope.
