I admit it, I was a little dubious about buying a non OEM part but the 'official' Thetford part was $47 and this one was $14. For that price I can carry a spare! It's an easy install and takes less than 5 minutes.The secret is to put on a rubber glove and use that hand to move the flush valve a little bit while pressing the spring cassette into place. Once you feel it 'mesh' you can push it into place and put the screws in.Do Not put the screws in until it's pushed all the way in!

This is just like the original part and works just fine. There are no installation instructions, but they wouldn't be of much use anyway. "Take out the old part, and put the new one in in the same way." However, this is a bit tricky. The key is to make sure that the part is exactly seated in its place before you tighten any screws. This is tricky, and there is no way to explain any "secret." You just have to work and twist the part until it finally seats itself all the way. Then you can tighten the screws.

This item resolved an annoying problem with our RV toilet. I should point out that there are some confusing issues in selecting the correct spring cartridge based upon various models of toilets and their changes over time.
