so basically this thing was playable right out of the case. No big issues other than the strings, although a surprisingly decent quality, weren't wrapped very well around the pegs. the fret board was pretty dry but overall in good shape. nice smooth frets and near zero grit. And although they're not rounded, they also weren't biting my hand when i played. The tuners themselves are good, the only string that slipped during my 3 hours of playtime was the e and it seems to be due to the poor wrap job and not an issue with the tuners themselves. The packed in strings are actually nice for a brand i've never heard of, same with the tuner and gig bag. the gig bag is decent quality and lightly padded and is still way better than a nylon bag.The strap is very "meh", its uncomfortable but it will get the job done if you don't have one yet. The paint job looks pretty good and there are no real blemishes or defects of any kind. The pick ups are definitely punching way above their weight class in this price range and are definitely comparable to a squire or budget epiphone which can run 2-3x the price. I bought this model to mod out a bit but i think i may keep it as is and just buy another from this company soon (that tele model looks sweet!)UPDATE: a small but easily correctable issue i've encountered is that the nut slots aren't cut deep enough and needed to be filed down a bit.

Very affordable guitar. Would make a great option for a beginner. Color is beautiful and the finish is good. It’s a good platform to upgrade into something more. I did upgrade since the fretboard was good out of the box.

I bought this to literally strip down and completely rebuild over time as a project guitar. The only thing I’ll be keeping is the white body lol. That said, for $70-$80, it plays and sounds better than expected. The neck has some fret sprout, and the sound is … well, it’s like Skull Candy vs Beats headphones, with Beats being a Fender Squire. Do the Skull Candy sound awful? No, not really considering the price. If you’re just getting into guitar you might want to spend a little more for a Squire so you don’t have to upgrade/replace parts so soon down the road, but as a project guitar or a beater to keep around? It’s great. If the neck was a little nicer I’d give it a solid 4 stars. You have to keep in mind the cost of this thing; it’s really not at all bad for the asking price.

I've had this guitar for a couple weeks now and I really enjoy it. Out of the package it was playable but the fret ends were rough and the bridge was set up poorly probably a worse initial setup than squiers I've owned in the past. The finish is flawless though and the electronics are decent from what I can tell, the frets were also perfectly level. I spent some time rounding the frets, sanding the neck pocket and shimmed the neck. New strings(ghs boomers) I'm using 9's and have the action set a hair below 2mm at the 12th and it's perfect with no fret buzz. Would recommend for anyone who is comfortable or willing to learn to setup guitars. If your not comfortable doing your own work it would probably be worth the extra money to get a squier. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase and the color sets it apart from the many generic looking strats.

It’s prettier than the picture. It’s been easy for my daughter to learn the basic stuff for now. It’s only been a month since she got it

My son is teaching himself on an acoustic guitar and wanted to give electric a shot. This electric guitar is much better than I expected at this price point. The sound is good and it comes with a lot of extras. The strap feels a bit cheapy, but that would be easy to switch out and is not a big enough deal to adjust the five-star score. Overall, we are thrilled with this electric guitar. He has tried it with two amps, an older Fender and a second generic brand amp. It sounds better on the Fender- no surprise there, but it works well with both. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this for anyone on a budget who wants to try an electric guitar.

What's not to like about this guitar? The lightning bolt finish is done supremely well, not just a sticker applied to the top. I don't know how they do it, but it's a fantastic finish. This is the finest sub $80 guitar I have ever played. The action is great, the frets are done perfectly, the intonation is spot on, and the tremolo is set nicely. I like having a humbucker in the bridge. The weight, feel and sound of this guitar is all Strat. The only drawback that I could find is very minor; the pickup output seems a little low. But that's why there is a volume knob on the amplifier. Well worth the money.
