The discs wear extremely slowly. They also keep the work surface smooth and free of gouging. Very nice units and are compact enough to work into curved areas. These will work in cleaning aluminum automotive cylinder heads of carbon in the combustion chambers. Versatile tools from a recognized company in 3M.

Bought these to help with light rust and loose paint removal on a utility trailer refurbishment, specifically on the inner web of the c-channel crossmembers that are tough to access. Amazing ability to actually remove the rust and paint, but I wore one brush completely out (see picture) doing one (yes, one!) 72†long c-channel. At $15 per brush that works out to $2.50 foot for rust removal, abysmal.I have used the larger 6†versions in various grits in my bench grinder for light rust removal, smoothing, and light polishing with top notch results, but these smaller brushes are horrible. BTW, this was being used in a Dewalt 20v die grinder, max rpms of 25,000 which matches what the brush is rated for and most of the time it was not operated at max rpm. I went back to the wire brush in the die grinder, and wire wheel in the angle grinder to finish the job.Would not buy again, the quality and lifespan is poor.
